Just how resilient is the market…how much can it take?!

Time and time again we all face challenges in our lives, some with a positive outcome, some less favourable. Many a time we are left with unanswered questions and a level of uncertainty.

However big or small the challenges we push through them, we endeavour to overcome and make it out the other side.

You may wonder what the relevance of the above is when this is a blog about Estate Agency; well it really is quite simple, all of the above can be applied to the housing market and how not only us, but a business like Estate Agency can survive in these ever challenging times. We adapt, we strip down and we re-focus. We keep in mind a strength that is needed, but also knowledge that we are not alone.

As I am writing this, we are entering the throws of the Pandemic. That word alone causes concern which many are struggling to alleviate.

I think it is safe to say that many businesses will struggle but more importantly the people who are involved in them do so too; so, at this point, I digress from the world of Estate Agency and focus on us, as humans. We are not machines, but we are made of strong stuff, even when we don’t think we are….so stay strong, stay kind and make sure you make your decisions with a practical common-sense approach. We can and we will get through this difficult time, but make sure you do something, once a day, that makes you smile. Wear a bright colour, try a new hobby (so long as you don’t have to break restrictions!) and most importantly, while you’re helping and being kind to others, please be kind to yourself. We all have a role in this world and for some it’s purely that you are in it.

I leave you with a couple of quotes, both of which I resonate with and which I read in the early stages of COVID-19; I take the spirit of these quotes to heart and I hope you can too…

We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated – Maya Angelou.

Challenges are what make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful – Joshua J. Marine
